Programming Intern Needed

By Tim Priebe on August 24, 2011 at 2:15 pm in General

It’s the marvelous fall season again, which means it’s time for a new intern here at T&S. Who doesn’t want to get everyone in the office coffee and make runs to Sonic during happy hour? Oh, and occasionally there’s actual programming involved.

This year we need one programming intern to work around 20 hours a week. As usual, we’re not too worried about experience level, but are most interested in someone who wants to learn.

If you’re interested in becoming an Orangite, give our job hotline a call at 237-8080. Be ready to leave a detailed message with the following information:

  1. Your name
  2. Your telephone number
  3. Your email address (please spell it out)
  4. Where you go to school
  5. Tell us why you think you would be perfect for this job

It’s okay if you get confused, just hang up and call back again. But try to do it before the tone sounds. We don’t need to hear a message with your heavy breathing on it.

Oh, and we’ll be taking applications through the job hotline until midnight September 11th. The internship will be for the duration of the 2011-2012 school year. Once again, the number is 237-8080.

The secret to guaranteeing yourself a job at T&S

By Tim Priebe on October 1, 2010 at 8:13 am in General

timatcomputerWhat do you need to know to get a killer job at T&S Web Design? Read on to find out.

We recently decided to take a new policy towards filling positions here at T&S: We’re not doing it any more. Other than internships we have in the summer and during the school year, we’re no longer interviewing to fill specific positions.

Instead, we are interviewing people constantly. Whether it be for sales, programming or designing, we are always willing to interview candidates. This is going to do two things:

  1. Let us take time hiring for any position, because we’ll be interviewing before the need is there.
  2. Let us find those really, really awesome people even when we don’t have a position available.

As Jim Collins puts it in his legendary book Good to Great, we’re all about getting the right people on the bus. And we believe this is the way to do it.

So what is the secret to make sure you’re the right person for the T&S bus? (This really applies to any company you might apply to.)

Research T&S and our employees.

What technologies are we using? What do we do for fun? Who works here? Check out our website, Facebook page and Twitter account. Google us. Find and check out the accounts of our employees as well.

Adjust accordingly.

Learn the technologies we’re using. Learn about our hobbies. Make yourself a linchpin before you even get here.

Do you think you’re the right person for the T&S bus? Are you a programmer, designer or salesperson looking to to start somewhere new? We’d love to chat! Just contact us, and if we think you might be a good fit, we’ll schedule an interview.

The infamous intern Chradam

The infamous intern Chradam

It’s back-to-school time again! For T&S, that means it’s time to look for a new batch of interns to pay measly salaries in exchange for back-breaking web design work.

This year, we’re looking for additional programming and design interns to work up to 20 hours a week per intern. We don’t really care about experience level, but are more interested in drive and willingness (and ability) to learn.

If you’re interested in going to get full-timers coffee on a regular basis and occasionally do design and programming work as well, call our job hotline at 241-1051. Be ready to leave a detailed message with the info I ask for.

It’s okay if you get confused, just hang up and call back again. But try to do it before the tone sounds. We don’t need to hear a message with your heavy breathing on it.

T&S is looking for an additional programming intern to work 20 hours a week this summer. As is always the case with us, this is a paid internship.

If you’re interested in joining our team here at T&S, just call our intern job hotline at 241-1051. Listen to the entire message, then leave the information that you’ll hear me ask for.

Don’t have web experience? That’s okay! We focus on hiring interns who are willing to learn, not those with web experience.

And if you know of anyone who would be a good candidate, be sure to pass this information along to them as well.

And these are paid internships, though we’re fine if you get school credit for them as well.
